Our AI Policy.
Last updated: 29 May 2026
1. Introduction & Who We Are.
Magenta MAD (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a marketing agency based in the United Kingdom. This policy describes how we govern the use of AI in connection with our services, website, marketing, and client work. AI has not replaced marketers, but it has replaced many monotonous tasks. Value now lies in judgment, ethics, strategic clarity and the ability to design systems that work in service of both people and brands.

2. Human Oversight & Accountability.
AI is a tool to support our bold thinking and sharp strategy, not a replacement for human creativity. Every piece of AI-generated content requires mandatory review, editing, and fact-checking by a human team member prior to client delivery. The staff member handling the campaign assumes full responsibility for the accuracy and quality of the final output. Before anything goes out, we ask: Is it clear? Is it confident? Does it sound human? Does it feel like our client? If the answer isn’t yes to all four, we rewrite it.
We ensure that any AI-driven decisions or insights are fully explainable and justified to our clients. AI can crunch the numbers, but we provide the perspective; "the algorithm suggested it" is never an acceptable rationale for a strategic move.
Teams must actively monitor AI systems for algorithmic bias (especially in ad targeting, audience segmentation, and automated content) to ensure fairness and inclusivity.
3. Scope, Data Privacy & Security.
This policy doesn't just cover dedicated generative platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini. It applies to AI functionalities embedded within our entire tech stack, including established software like HubSpot, project management tools, and our daily workspace apps. We clearly define what information can and cannot be fed into public or third-party AI models. Uploading sensitive client data, personally identifiable information (PII), or unreleased financial details into unapproved public AI tools is strictly prohibited. We don't hoard data. We anonymise data wherever possible to protect privacy. Data is retained only for as long as it takes to fulfill its intended commercial purpose, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised. Every AI tool we use for campaign data processing must strictly adhere to local data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).
4. Client Transparency.

We are an agency that acts like a partner. We transparently communicate when and how we use AI in our deliverables, while fiercely protecting our proprietary workflows and the structured direction that moves businesses forward. We secure explicit client approval before deploying AI-driven tools that interact directly with their customers, such as automated customer service chatbots or dynamic AI website personalisation.

5. Intellectual Property & Brand Safety.

All AI-generated assets must respect intellectual property rights. We only use AI image generators cleared for commercial use and avoid using AI to closely mimic existing trademarks or copyrighted works. Good design is a commercial advantage, not a shortcut. AI-generated copy must be rigorously edited to ensure it aligns perfectly with the client's established brand guidelines and tone. Blending in isn't a strategy.

6. Approved Tools & Procurement.

We maintain a list of pre-approved AI platforms that Magenta MAD has fully vetted for security, copyright protection, and data privacy. We strictly forbid the use of unapproved, consumer-grade AI tools for agency work to prevent data leaks and security vulnerabilities. Smart marketing earns its place; unvetted shortcuts do not.

7. Client Feedback & "The AI Creative Director".

AI is brilliant at many things, but it makes a terrible Creative Director. AI models are fundamentally designed to predict the most common, average response. At Magenta MAD, our philosophy is that blending in might feel safe, but it rarely works. We build strategies and creative work with unexpected personality, authority, and a point of view. If you feed our campaigns, designs, or copy into an AI tool to ask for "improvements," the AI lacks the commercial context, the audience nuances, and the strategic intent behind our decisions. It will naturally try to edit the work to make it sound or look like everyone else.
We partner with ambitious recruitment founders, not chatbots. We want your human perspective, your commercial insights, your industry knowledge, and your direct pushback. We bring perspective, challenge ideas, and help make smarter marketing decisions. AI cannot do that. We welcome collaborative, constructive feedback, but we will not action raw, copy-pasted AI critiques or automated "optimisations." Marketing should pull its weight; if it doesn't help the business move forward, it's just noise. Diluting our bespoke work with generic AI suggestions is just noise.

8. Evolution & Adaptation.

Marketing shouldn’t be "set it and forget it," and neither is this policy. We will review and update these guidelines at least annually (or as technology shifts) to ensure we stay ahead of legal requirements and our clients' evolving needs.
