Shut the front door...We're a Finalist at the British Recruitment Awards 2026!
Magenta MAD has been shortlisted for Recruitment Campaign of the Year. Out of 317 entries, WE were shortlised. As a team of, well, us. Pass the confetti cannon PLEASE!
Right. Deep breath. We're going to try to write this like consummate professionals and not just a keyboard covered in exclamation marks.

We failed. Here goes anyway.
We're a finalist in the British Recruitment Awards 2026 for Recruitment Campaign of the Year. And we would like it noted, for the record, that we did not cry. (We absolutely cried. There was prosecco. There was a small, dignified dance in the kitchen. Don't tell anyone.)
What actually happened to get us shortlisted for the British Recruitment Awards.
The British Recruitment Awards exist to find and celebrate the people and teams doing recruitment properly. The ones treating it as what it actually is: the small matter of deciding who gets to build the future of every organisation in the country. No pressure.
This year they had 317 entries to the awards. Start-up pioneers. Public sector heroes. Tech superstars. Global titans. And "everything in between," which we can only assume is the polite industry term for a boutique agency, run out of sheer stubbornness and very good coffee.
The judges whittled all of that down to a shortlist. And reader...we made the cut.
So did we mention it's Recruitment Campaign of the Year? We did? Marvellous. We'll mention it again shortly.
Let's talk about who's holding the clipboards.
Here's the part that made us sit down for a moment.
The judging panel for these awards reads like the guest list for a party we'd never normally get past the bouncer for. We're talking Heads of Talent Acquisition and Chief People Officers from Amazon, Nokia, Heineken, Paramount, Selfridges, Capgemini, Warburtons, Grant Thornton, BDO, SSE, Southern Water, Western Union, and academic firepower from Cranfield School of Management and the University of the Arts London.
To put it plainly, some of the sharpest talent minds in Britain looked at what we made, and instead of politely sliding it into the "no" pile, they put us through to the final.
For an agency our size, that isn't a nice-to-have. That's a room full of people who hire for a living deciding our work is worth their time. We're going to be insufferable about it for at least a fortnight, and we feel that's fair.
Why this one means rather a lot.
At Magenta MAD, our whole thing - our actual brand promise - is marketing that earns its place. Not marketing that fills a calendar. Not marketing that exists so someone can tick a box on a board deck. Marketing that pulls its weight and pays the rent.
Being shortlisted for Recruitment Campaign of the Year is, frankly, that promise being handed back to us with a rosette on it. It's independent proof that bold, human, gloriously un-beige work doesn't just feel good; it competes. Against the giants. On a national stage. In front of the people who set the bar.
We are the small agency that offers the agility of a freelancer, the experience of a marketing director and the firepower of a full agency; and it turns out that combination punches quite a lot heavier than its weight class suggests.
"We're a boutique agency going toe-to-toe with global titans, judged by the people who hire for Amazon and Heineken...and WE made the final. This is what happens when you refuse to make boring marketing. We build campaigns for recruitment brands that people actually stop and feel something about, and it turns out that works. To everyone who bet on the loud pink agency - this shortlist is for you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a ceremony outfit to overthink." - Jayde Pope, Founder, Magenta MAD
The bit where we wait, dramatically.
We'll find out whether we've actually won at the awards ceremony in Covent Garden, London, on 12th November 2026. Between now and then we will be operating at our usual standard of calm professionalism, i.e. checking our emails 400 times a day and rehearsing an acceptance speech in the shower that no one has asked us to prepare.
As Nate Harwood, Founder of New Possible and the British Recruitment Awards, put it (rather more elegantly than we just did):
"As we navigate a profound industrial shift, it has become more important than ever for organisations to attract, develop and retain the people who will build tomorrow's economy. The British Recruitment Awards celebrate the visionary teams and individuals leading this transformation. Congratulations to all our Finalists."
"Visionary teams." He said visionary. We're getting it printed on a mug.
To our clients, briefly and sincerely.
We do the sass because it's who we are. But underneath the noise: thank you. Every recruitment brand that trusted a small, loud, magenta agency with their marketing is the reason a national judging panel knows our name at all. You didn't just hire an agency. You backed a bet. And the bet just made the final.
We couldn't have got here without you, and we're not planning on stopping at "finalist."

Are you a recruitment brand that's tired of marketing that blends in?
Good. So are we. It's the whole reason we exist. If you want marketing that earns its place ( the kind national award panels apparently rather like) start with our free, human-led mini-marketing audit. Real strategy, made by an actual human, no AI shortcuts, no strings.
Let's make something worth shortlisting.
